DIRECTIONS

By air: Closest airports are Sacramento (1 hour drive) and Reno (1.5 hour drive).

By train: Amtrak connects in Auburn, CA to Gold Country Stage.

By car approximately: 1 hour from Sacramento, 1.5 hours from Reno, 2.5 hours from SF Bay Area

Traveling on Hwy. 80 heading east from Sacramento:
Use the Hwy. 49 off-ramp in Auburn. Proceed north on Hwy. 49 toward Grass Valley – appr. 25 miles. In Grass Valley, take the first off-ramp, McKnight Way. Turn left on Mcknight Way and proceed over the freeway, past the shopping center on the left. Turn right on Freeman Lane, past another shopping center on the left. Freeman Lane will turn into McCourtney Road at the second 4 – way stop sign. Continue straight on McCourtney Road until the Nevada County Fairgrounds appears on the right, appr. 2 blocks. For handicap parking use gate 1 and for general parking continue to gate 4.

Traveling on Hwy. 80 heading west from Reno:
Use the same directions as above, Hwy. 49 offramp in Auburn, head north to Grass Valley. Or, for a scenic and mildly curvy shortcut, take the Hwy. 20 offramp to Grass Valley, just after the Eagle Lakes Rd. offramp on Hwy. 80. Travel time on Hwy. 20 is appr. one-half hour. Stay on the highway through Nevada City and Grass Valley. Do not get off the highway when Hwy. 20 takes off west towards Marysville. Stay on and the highway becomes Hwy.49. Take the McKnight Way offramp and turn right on McKnight Way, traveling past the shopping center on the left. Turn right on Freeman Lane, past another shopping center on the left. Freeman Lane will turn into McCourtney Road at the second 4 – way stop sign. Continue straight on McCourtney Road until the Nevada County Fairgrounds appears on the right, appr. 2 blocks. Take the McCourtney Road/Fairgrounds exit off of Hwy. 20 just before actually entering Grass Valley. Turn right on McCourtney Road, until the Nevada County Fairgrounds appears on the right, appr. 1 block. For handicap parking use gate 1 and for general parking continue to gate 4.

TENT & RV CAMPING

Beneath tall pines and oaks, the level terrain is ideal for families with tents and campers.  RV Hookups (Water/Electric only and Water/Electricity/Sewer) are available by reservation with ticket packets described on the back.  Showers and fresh water are located throughout the grounds.  Lion Lake offers shoreline fishing for children.  No campfires or charcoal BBQ’s are allowed.  Above the ground camp stoves are OK.  We suggest campers bring a shade canopy for their campsite.  Absolutely no pets are allowed at the festival or in the camping area.  (certified service dogs must be on a 6′ leash at all times)

The camping gate opens at 8:00 AM each day.  There will be no ticket sales between 10:00PM and 8:00AM.  Sunday camping ticket holders may camp through Sunday night.  Checkout time is noon on Monday.

The Fairgrounds at Grass Valley camping area is level terrain and ideal for families with tents, campers, and RV’s (hook-ups are available by reservation). Showers and fresh water are located throughout the grounds. Lion Lake offers shoreline fishing for children.   It is Open Camping – first come, first serve.  You select your camping spot when you arrive.  There are not set spaces, unless you have reserved an RV Hookup site.  Most campers set up beside their vehicle.  There are walk-in camping spaces available, too, with parking nearby.  Each person wishing to camp must purchase a ticket that includes camping.

4-Day Tickets with Camping: begin Thursday 8AM to Monday at noon and include all music & activities for Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
3-Day Tickets with Camping: any 3 consecutive days. (includes Camping plus all Music & Activities)
2-Day Tickets with Camping: include any 2 consecutive days of music plus camping for the same 2 days.
1-Day Tickets with Camping: include full day of music plus that night’s camping.
1-Day Tickets (no Camping): include the full day of music from 10AM to the end of music (usually about 11PM), workshops, dance and children’s programs. A 1-Day Ticket may be used for the day of your choice.  Day Gate opens at 9AM.
Youth Tickets with Camping: include all music, workshops, children’s programs and camping for the full festival. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.  Youth is 13-16 years old.
Child Tickets with Camping: include all music, workshops, children’s programs and camping for the full festival. Child must be accompanied by an adult.  A child is 5-12 years old.  Under 5 is Free.
RV Festival Hookup Sites: open at 8AM on Thursday, July 14 and your spot is available to you until noon on Monday, July 18. RV Hookup Sites are only available in the packages below:
Reserved Sites with FULL Hookups: (water, electricity, sewer) are available as packages for the whole festival and include two Adult 4-Day tickets with camping.
Reserved Sites with Partial Hookups: (water/electricity only) are available as packages for the whole festival and include two Adult 4- Day tickets with camping

No campfires or charcoal BBQ’s are allowed.  Above the ground camp stoves are OK.  Absolutely no pets are allowed at the festival or in the camping area.  Pet accommodations are available at The Kennels, call (530) 272-4670 for more information.  The camping gate opens at 8:00 AM each day.  There will be no ticket sales between 10:00PM and 8:00AM.  Sunday camping ticket holders may camp through Sunday night.  Checkout time is noon on Monday.

Please:  No Generators allowed. No drumming or loud music from 11PM to 9AM.  There is a Quiet Camping area established where no night jamming is allowed.

SEATING

Bring your low-backed lawn chair (under 32″ from top of chair to ground & under 10” from seat to ground) for seating close to the stage.  You may bring full size lawn chairs to seat yourself beyond the soundboard.  Please, no chaise lounges. The fairground’s policy is no tarps allowed on the meadow grass.  The music gate opens at 9:00 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the final performance will end by 11:00 PM each day.  Remember:  ALL seating areas are NO smoking. Many of the daytime stages have provided chair or bench seating.

No outside alcohol is allowed inside the festvial grounds.
