All of us at the WorldFest team are saddened to share with you that California WorldFest will not take place in 2024. Earlier this year it was announced the date for WorldFest was moving to October 11-14 and the new location was Richards Ranch in Yuba County. The WorldFest team has been diligently working to secure all of the necessary approvals for these changes, however, the process has been more challenging and taken longer than expected. California WorldFest will not have all the necessary requirements secured by October 2024.
Over the past year of planning, the WorldFest team remained hopeful but realistic. Many festival cancellations have taken place in the past 6 months and are a continual reminder of the current economic challenges facing festivals. These economic difficulties are the exact reasons that led WorldFest to reevaluate its festival and make changes.
The WorldFest team remains committed to bringing together music, art, and community from around the globe and is looking ahead to 2025 and evaluating how the festival can deliver the very best experience.
The WorldFest team is profoundly grateful for the support and enthusiasm of the attendees, volunteers, artists, sponsors, and the community over the years. For 2025, The WorldFest team doesn’t have all the answers yet, but knows the importance of continuing to bring world music to the region.
Your dedication has been the cornerstone of the success of California WorldFest and has helped make WorldFest a cherished event for so many.
Despite taking a pause in 2024, WorldFest remains optimistic about the future. The team will continue to work to bring WorldFest back in a sustainable and impactful way. WorldFest is committed to adapting and evolving to ensure that when WorldFest returns, it will continue to be a source of joy, unity, and cultural celebration.
