Brian Hartman

Brian Hartman

A leader in the West Coast underground music scene, Brian Hartman is an in-demand DJ & a successful event producer. The Nevada City, CA resident is among the most versatile DJs in festival culture, his genre-spanning sets dot the globe and travel through time and space. Hartman is a master of connecting progressive musical ideas to unveil an emotional journey; his warm, organic rhythms are transmitted through a myriad of tempos and a bevy of creativity.  Brian Hartman’s vibrant DJ sets cultivate distinctly different offerings, he mixes Midtempo Intercultural Beats, deep, tribally house, as well as a variety of Latin, African, and Caribbean beats, at times journeying through Cumbia, Tropical Soul, and beyond. Hartman distills traditional tones and rhythms, blending treasured songs and melodies, the soundtracks to cultures dating back hundreds of years.

He effortlessly weaves in and out of sweet dub cumbia, but will also lock into the heartbeat of deep, dubby, ethno-house. Four-on-the-floor is his first forte, and Brian feels right at home in the sexy confines of throbbing, rippling Deep House.  Within that idiom, the seasoned DJ puts a premium on minimalism; in terms of dynamics, Brian does more with less. Regardless of style or setting, Hartman continues to turn the heads of seasoned dance music veterans, as well as newcomers to the scene.

2018 saw Brian Hartman upping the ante, by playing a vast array of events both domestic and international. His schedule included Envision Festival in Costa Rica, Bali Spirit Festival, Cosmic Convergence in Guatemala, Air Festival on the Gili Islands, and New Earth Festival in Indonesia. Stateside he has appeared at Global Eclipse Gathering, enchanted forest gathering, Lightning in a Bottle, California WorldFest, Bioneers Conference, Imagine Festival, among others. Hartman has provided direct support for iconic live performers such as Dirtwire, LulaCruza, Beats Antique, Les Nubians, Vieux Farka Toure, members of Rising Appalachia, and many others.
